We were afraid we wouldn't have pots/pans/dishware but it was well stocked with everything we needed (we love to cook so that was important for us). The location is fantastic, it's on a dune lake just a brief walk from 30A. The dock is in great shape and well lit at night, the balconies were a great place to relax, and there's also a nook in the house with two cozy seats with incredible views. The dining room table was large enough for everyone to eat together which we loved. We brought some of our own bikes but didn't have quite enough for everyone, so we were happy to see the bikes that came with the house -- they were in great shape and we never had any issues! The amenities all worked well and the home was in a quiet area (with no neighbors to one side - very private!). We loved the large yard, and the flexibility to park six cars was a major bonus. The porches and dock were peaceful. The neighborhood was quiet. The rooms and layout was exactly as describe. Short drive to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The stairs to the upper level were quite loud and creaky which was a bit of annoyance when trying to navigate the home and not disrupt others at night or in the morning. Id give 4.5/5 stars! We would return again! TIP: Bring basic spices if you plan to cook at the home. It did not have salt or pepper. Plenty of pans, pots, plates, and utensils though. We loved how peaceful the area is and how close it is to get to the beach. We did kayak to the beach one day (no alligator sightings for us), it was a little tiring specially on the way back after being at the beach on the sun for a while but totally worth it. There was more than enough space for us, we were 5 adults. The only negative thing about the place was that there were a lot of missing basic things in the kitchen. I love to cook and did so everyday but there didnt seem to be enough pans and there werent any basic staples like a salt shaker or kitchen trash bags. There were plenty of plates, cups, glasses, wine glasses and even champagne glasses. There were a couple of beach chairs but they werent in great shape, we ended up buying our own tent and chairs. If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful stay this is the place for you. You just might have have to buy or pack a few more things than usual. We just wanted to give other people heads ups on a couple things though. The ice maker does not work so plan on getting ice, you dont actually have access to the painting + yoga area(we asked and they said no), you have to sleep with bedroom doors open or you get extremely hot in the middle of the night, there are no grilling tools, they said they didnt have a pack n play so I paid to rent one but they actually do have a pack n play in an upstairs bedroom closet(maybe left behind by a previous tenant?). The outdoor shower was amazing and so helpful to shower off after the beach! We used Walton dunes beach but they didnt have a place to rinse off at the beach. Oh, watch out for snakes and alligators! Close enough to Panama City and Destin, but far enough away to be more private if you choose that route. The public beach access was just minutes away. The lake was an added bonus for sure! We all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards to play around on. It is about a 20 minute paddle to the beach. The kayaks were a huge perk and you can kayak to a small canal which takes you to the ocean. Close to the hub which has local food and shops. The only downfall which was not the hosts fault is difficulty getting to the beaches on 30a. Most of them are all private access and theres no parking. There was one beach access a short walk away which was perfect (no parking) but we didnt know how difficult beach access in general was on 30a. Still recommend just want to give that heads up!
